Bini
I know that families can be eternal. But what about parents that are separated from their child by an unfortunate event? What happens when that child is adopted and sealed into a different family? At that point, are the biological parents irrelevant in regards to that child's eternal family? Or is there a place for them as an extended family unit?

Hearts of fathers to children and children to fathers and all that. It's going to be one big happy family of Christ for any and all who made and kept the Sealing covnant. (with of course couples continuing on in their Progression, but I'm sure husbands and wives will be spending time with their children as well as with their second cousin 32 times removed on their father's side. ) ETA: When you think about it, we're all related anyway. The gospel according to Jenamarie. Bini
^ And in context that doesn't go over my head! Thanks for your response. So what about families (specifically parents) that have not heard the gospel and have not been sealed to their children but live righteously? Using this scenario under the same circumstances of the original post. Is there an "order" in which families reside in the eternities? Will the father who had his child sealed to him be patriarch over the family? Where is the biological father's place? I was adopted and know nothing of my biological parents. I have been sealed to my adoptive parents that are all that I know and love. I don't ever think about who my birth parents are because it hasn't been of great importance to me. But I wonder about the slim possibility of them receiving the gospel and their desire to be reunited with their child - if not only in this life but in the next life. Where would their place be? Although I think that your sealed father will still have precedence as your father.
