Do I need to talk to the Bishop?

Yes! You will never feel completely free and you will always question how complete your repentance is if you don't. The Lord put together a process of repentance that includes the Bishop for a reason. If you truly are repentant and if you truly want to feel close to Heavenly Father then you will want to follow through with all the steps of repentance with as much exactness as possible. Remember, the purpose of the bishop is more for you than for anyone else.

In addition, going to the Bishop will help you stay accountable to yourself. You won't want to do it again so it will be an incentive to not slip up again. He will also be a support to you and can be there for you to fortify yourself so that you can avoid making the same choice again.

A long time ago I posted here claiming that I was addicted to porn. But now, I don't think I really was. I think I looked at it in bursts...like a couple nights in a row once every few months or more. I haven't looked at porn since I've posted back then either. Do you think I still need to see the bishop?

I don't think it's necessary. You have repented and forsaken the sin. I agree you are not addicted, and never were. Addicts have a behavior pattern that they will forsake all else but the addiction. Your pattern is not that of an addict.:)

The answer to your question is YES.

I respectfully disagree with mrmarklin. Confession to proper authorities is a sign of true repentance. Concealing past sins from the proper priesthood authorities is a hallmark of incomplete repentance, and secrecy is one indicator of continued addiction.

Last summer I told you to read this book. (You also received lots of other great advice in that discussion.) Have you done it yet?
