Dr T
Hello Rosie, "Reaping what we sow" what are your thoughts about that actually being "retribution from God"? You also bring up good thoughts with the examples you gave. There are verses that talk about parents sins being carried on to future generations-what do you make of that? Job was offered to Satan by God as a godly man. I don't see what he went through as retribution. Retribution from what? He was a righteous man that shunned evil. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you Dr. T
pushka
Rosie, I have to take issue with your assumption that the natural disasters etc. could be God's way of testing his people's strength in the face of tragedy. I've heard this explanation used by many over the years, Christians have used it to explain why they have had children with great disabilities to cope with, why somebody in their family has died at an early age, and all sorts of tragedies. I really cannot see why a so-called loving God/Heavenly Father would test his so-called Children that way? Would you set up your children with unexpected tragedies, purposely, in order to test their strength? I really does not seem to be an act of a loving parent to me.
