LeKook
... start a thread about books, where to get them, which to read, general discussion of books? Thanks... don't want to clog up the topic boards with my bookworm-ish tendencies.

Martain
When buying books one often will go to somewhere like Amazon.com. One problem is that every book regardless of cost has a 3.99 shipping fee. A cheaper method would be to use paperbackswap.com. You post the books you want to give out and for every one you send someone else, you get a credit good for one book. You can also buy book credits directly for less than $4 and exchange them directly for a book thereby beating amazon.com every time (so long as someone has it posted). Just a resource I've used that I thought I'd share =)
Backroads
I often shop on BetterWorld.com. Most of the proceeds go to literacy campaigns.
