MSNBC had a little news story on Jobs and had the graphic AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM on the screen. That "American Exceptionalism" had his products made in a factory in China that was so bad thirteen people committed suicide rather than continue working there. Plus an explosion killed two more people.

In the right world Jobs would have been hauled up in front of Congress and faced criminal prosecution.

Hoosier? If I can give you a piece of advice:

It seems like you're almost becoming a caricature of your viewpoint. You have started to view the website as a means of 'One-upmanship' where you try to shock readers.

Take a moment: Do you honestly want to be the type of person who attacks a guy who just died of pancreatic cancer and left behind his family?

To HoosierGuy;'s opening post. I'm reminded of Ronald Reagan who said "When you're President of the United States, you go to bed at night knowing there is a lot of bad stuff going on that you don't know about".

I would say the same in defence of Steve Jobs. He was the leader of a very large organization -- 120000 employees in Cupertino, CA alone. I don't think he can be held responsible for the actions of people in China unless he knew for a fact they were treating employees that way and went ahead with their procurement contracts anyway. it's likely there were operational issues at the China plant he wasnt' aware of.

The company in China also does business with a lot of other high profile technology companies, so if you pull up Steve Jobs before the committee, you'll have to do it for a lot of American companies as well.

Or, alternatively, in a right world, uninformed sophists wouldn't say nutty things.
