pam Posted April 1, 2012 Report Share Posted April 1, 2012 The purpose of the Relief Society is to increase personal righteousness and to seek out those families who are in need.Brigham Young instructed his counselors and apostles to instruct Bishops to set up Relief Societies.The Relief Society is divinely ordained of God.Relief Society is not a program. Relief Society is a way of life for LDS women and extends beyond a Sunday class.Savings souls include sharing the gospel and engaging in temple work.The Relief Society works in harmony with the Bishops to look after the needs of the Saints.
