I am not a member of the Latter-day Saint church, but I have been meaning to read the Book of Mormon for a long time now. My question is there a standard daily reading plan I could use to do so? Obviously I could just read x number of chapters a day, but I was thinking something broken up in a more logical fashion. I've used a lot of different reading plans for the Bible that are set up as such. Also, tangentially, is there a reading plan for the other texts in the LDS Canon (e.g., D&C, Pearl of Great Price)? Vort Posted June 1, 2012 Report Share Posted June 1, 2012 My wife and I have read the Book of Mormon completely through every year for 25 years by reading one chapter per day (plus the frontispiece and the testimonies) between our anniversary and the end of the year. If you want to read it within a certain amount of time, you can find out how much you would have to read per day. The Doctrine and Covenants; is that supposed to be read straight through or is there some other method that is recommended? The format is different than other texts, so I was wondering. I only ask because I've seen several people answer here about reading 2 to 3 chapters at night but it taking them half a year or more to finish at that pace. That means that as an investigated person it might be a year before I'd be able to be baptized and join the church. Is that normal and realistic of a timeline?
