Book of Mormon Reading Plan?

Recommended Posts

Hello. This may be a very basic question, so forgive the nature of it.

I am not a member of the Latter-day Saint church, but I have been meaning to read the Book of Mormon for a long time now. My question is there a standard daily reading plan I could use to do so? Obviously I could just read x number of chapters a day, but I was thinking something broken up in a more logical fashion. I've used a lot of different reading plans for the Bible that are set up as such.

Also, tangentially, is there a reading plan for the other texts in the LDS Canon (e.g., D&C, Pearl of Great Price)?

Thanks for any links, resources, etc. :)

My wife and I have read the Book of Mormon completely through every year for 25 years by reading one chapter per day (plus the frontispiece and the testimonies) between our anniversary and the end of the year. Works very well for us.

Here is also a link to a Book of Mormon reading calculator. If you want to read it within a certain amount of time, you can find out how much you would have to read per day. Etc.

Personally, I would take it nice and slow..but at least this calculator would help you set some goals.

Sorry for the double post, but I forgot to ask. The Doctrine and Covenants; is that supposed to be read straight through or is there some other method that is recommended?

The format is different than other texts, so I was wondering. Thanks. :)

You might want to use some of the church's study manuals.

All the church manuals are online and free to use.

The Seminary manuals are pretty good, and designed to cover each topic in a year. This is geared for High School Students.

First, as we all know that advertisements are tempting but deceptive. In order to attract target customers, the advertisements are full filled with decorated expressions. The new york asian escort advertisement for spouse, with no exception, will either exaggerate their wealth or fabricate their status and identity in order to tempt te prey. For example, an ugly new york asian escorts man with bad temper will describe himself as a handsome and even-tempered.

Second, even if you were lucky enough not to get deceived in the beginning and happened to find a spouse new york asian escorts through the advertisement, there would still be many problems in later life, because the spouse got in this way may be unstable. Before they know each other, they live in quite different social interactions. They may be different in temper, interests and life styles. Therefore, it's hard for the two to live peacefully together. Besides, marriage is the combination of two families. Are new members and investigated people required to read the entire Book of Mormon before joining? I only ask because I've seen several people answer here about reading 2 to 3 chapters at night but it taking them half a year or more to finish at that pace. That means that as an investigated person it might be a year before I'd be able to be baptized and join the church. Is that normal and realistic of a timeline?
