bjinterfaith2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 Greetings to all: I have a question to all my LDS Christian friends: How does LDS Christianity define the afterlife? In otherwords, Is Heaven just like the Heaven that other non-LDS Christian churches teach? Is there are Hell and if so, how does LDS Christianity reconcile its existence with a God of love? How about other issues that other religions believe and teach such as Purgatory (Roman Catholicism), Transmigration of the soul-reincarnation (Buddhist-Hindu, etc) and is there a physical resurrection for all humanity? Thank you for your time, Joe B. Quote
NeuroTypical Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 You can find a good brief overview in our Gospel Principles manual. Especially:Chapter 41: The Postmortal Spirit World Chapter 46: The Final Judgment Chapter 47: Exaltation Quote
bytebear Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Tomorrow, on 20/20, Barbara Walters is doing a special on Heaven in various religions, including LDS. I recommend seeing it, but, I think from a study perspective, the Sunday School manual is a good start.Deseret News Exclusive: ABC '20/20' special on 'Heaven' will include Mormon perspective | Deseret News Quote
