L. Tom Perry - Saturday pm session

Recommended Posts

Through all the fast changes occurring around us, we work that the values of the Jesus Christ endures.

The prime targets of the adversary are the sanctity of marriage and the central importance of families.

There is a unique gospel culture with a set of values.

This gospel culture comes from the Plan of Salvation and from the teachings of living prophets.

Lessons taught in the homes by goodly parents are becoming increasingly important in today’s world.

Parents must resolve that teaching in the home is the most sacred responsibility.

It is goodly parents that are entrusted with the care and development of our Heavenly Father’s children.

5 things that parents can do:

1. Parents can pray in earnest that our Eternal Father will help them love, understand and guide their children.

2. Family Home Evening and scripture study and eat together.

3. Parents can avail themselves of the church’s support network.

4. Parents can share their testimonies often with their children. Committing them to keep the commandments of God.

5. We can organize our families based on clear family rules and expectations.

These will help our children to live in the world but not of the world.

Do you want your families and children be sealed to your fathers and mothers before you?

You must teach by example as well as precept.

Husbands and wives have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other as well as their children.

Fathers are to preside over their families in righteousness.

Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurturing of the children.

Mothers and Fathers are obligated to help each other as equal partners.

Building a strong family culture adds another layer of protection for our children.

We join with God to bring to pass His work and His glory among His children.
