Law of Chastity

I was getting a massage on my back. It was a really good massage that released a lot of tension. The trouble is, I felt myself becoming aroused. I stopped the massage immediately because I was getting close to having an 'accidental discharge'.

I'm not some perv, I just don't want to lose my worthiness over a back rub.

Is that breaking the law of chastity? It might seem obvious to more experienced members, but I'm a newby.

I'm kind of dissappointed because It was a great back rub and all.

Bless your heart, no you didn't break the Law of Chastity. I think you exhiited great self-control and I imagine the Lord is pleased with you.

Our bodies are "wired" to respond that way. Some victims of sexual abuse (molestation or rape, children and adults) become aroused during the abuse/trauma. This causes them to feel great shame, but of course that is not their fault. As I said, our bodies are "wired" to respond to certain stimuli in certain ways.

no i don't think so.

but if its a situation that gets you aroused you definitely will want to be cautious about it or avoiding alltogether that kind of massage (not knowing the details, and that there are many different ways to get a massage... may have to find a different way on getting one or soemthing).

I agree that you did not do wrong, unless you were having inappropriate thoughts or something. So just keep thoughts under control and maybe get a different massage therapist, if that's part of it... I don't know. But I think we need to stay out of situations where we are tempted to have improper thoughts or might be aroused - until after you are married of course. :)

Unless the masseuse was doing something inappropriate, or you were thinking of inappropriate things, then there's no problem with it at all. Sexuality isn't something to be afraid of. It isn't a sin for your body to react to feeling good by ejaculating. Just let it pass through you, and know that sexuality is a gift from God, and when used appropriately is unlike anything the world has to say about it. Heh Satan's cheap knock-offs (eyerolls). K Tangent!

Yeah, nothing wrong with getting aroused when nothing wrong is going on. :) Dare I say, enjoy it and then, let it go.

If you continue to find that just massage, with no inappropriate behavior on your part or the part of the masseuse, is consistently causing that, I'd pray about it. If you feel comfortable, talk to your parents or bishop if you're unsure of what you feel in your prayers.
