Have I told this story before? If so, read it again....it's still funny.

When I was on my mission, I sent a letter home to my parents asking for some turtlenecks. I didn't prepare well enough for the cold weather and it was difficult to find good clothes at that time in Bulgaria. So, for Christmas, my mom sent me a HUGE box (think refrigerator) full of things. Including about 7 "turtlenecks". Turns out mom didn't know what a turtleneck was, so she got me dickies. All they did was keep my neck warm....but I had a scarf for that!

For a multiple district meeting we had (each district had approximately 8 missionaries in it), we had the meeting at our apartment. We made spaghetti for lunch and the Elders were afraid of getting sauce on their shirts. So, I whipped out my dickies and handed them over. They worked great as bibs!

I have a couple of modified tanks that I wear a lot. During my first pregnancy, I discovered quickly that a LOT of maternity tops are very scoopy or have deep v-necks, and require modesty adjustments. I wore a lot of camisoles underneath. It got to be uncomfortable, because I was wearing garments, camis, shirts, and a bra, and my skin was already busting out all over! But I was pregnancy through winter, so it did add layers of warmth. With my second, I knew I'd be pregnant through the summer, and I didn't want to have the whole length of the camisole making me hotter. So I had my MIL help me cut them off below my bust, so they didn't cover my belly at all. The new hemline was lower enough to stay over my breasts, but short enough that you couldn't see a seam through my outer shirt, almost like a sports bra length. They covered the cleavage but still felt really light. I had a black one and a white one. I still wear the black one a lot, but the white one has gotten so stretched out now that it doesn't really cover much anyway, so I need a new one.
