Vort
...on your tailgate. This is what we sometimes call a "bad idea". Not "bad" as in "poorly thought out", but "bad" as in "evil".
Vort
Here's a closeup, showing how children's swing-set chain and a 4x4 are cleverly used to reinforce the tailgate.
RipplecutBuddha
Is it a bad method of mounting a hitch, or a genius method of collecting the gap insurance to pay off the loan? ;-)
jayanna
Gasp, that looks so dangerous. That can't be legal can it? I mean if they are going up a steep hill and there is traffic behind them...
MrShorty
How much of the problem here is mounting the hitch to the tailgate, and how much is just the fact that this is a compact SUV with a short wheelbase with a tow rating of, I expect, ~5000 lbs at most. Just so many things wrong with that picture.
bcguy
If that trailer ever come loose, it can kill a whole family. A trailer not as large as that one was, became disconnected from the hitch of a truck and the chains I suspect, were never connected. It went strait into oncoming traffic on the other side of the highway and took out a suv. Only thing left was body parts on the highway. Dd you get that picture off the internet? he should have been cited, and both truck and trailer towed away.
