What’s the last movie you watched?

We got rid of cable a month ago and bought a Roku. We use it along with a Netflix account my oldest son gave us for Christmas. One of the free channels is a channel dedicated to MIT lectures. Lately, and with no real background in the subject except my physics degree, I have been watching the nuclear reactor engineering lectures. Believe it or not, it's really extremely interesting. Haven't quite convinced Sister Vort or any of the kids to join me (yet).

Theory of Everything

Okay, Redmayne's Oscar was well deserved. This was a very well acted movie. This was more a love story than physics and doesn't really focus on detailing aspects of Hawking's life... rather it gives broad views of general concepts - God, universe, love, service, family, etc.

Jupiter Ascending.

Meh. Beautiful CGI, beautiful people, action packed but poor storytelling lacking major substance.

My wife went out to see that with a friend tonight. I stayed home and watched horror movie trailers on youtube.

Lol! Don't tell my husband that...

He and my 2 sons went with me and 2 other families in the ward who only brought their daughters... So they were the only boys in the entire theater. Lol. You could hear my son critically pointing out the silliness of the girls wanting to marry for money from the other end of the row. Hahaha!

Cinderella

Love this movie! It's so awesome that Disney went back to the original story. I do miss these traditional classics!

Last Friday I faced a spiritual crisis.  Golf with the guys or Cinderella with the daughters?  Needless to say the Christian brothers went golfing sans the prisonchaplain.  I liked the movie a lot.  There were a few minor anachronisms (Cinderella as a PETA activist--seriously???), but it was still fun, and well worth it.  The company I kept made it special, of course!  :-)
