Dieter F. Uchtdorf - Sunday am session

It is part of our condition as mortal beings to sometimes feel that we are surrounded by darkness.

Even then God promises the hope of His light. He promises to illuminate the light and show us the way out of darkness.

Some may feel darkness encroaching upon you.

God's light is real. It is available to all. It gives life to all things. It has the power to soften the sting of the deepest wound. It can be a healing balm for the loneliness and sickness of our soul.

Spiritual light doesn't come to those sitting in the darkness waiting for someone to flip the switch.

How do we open our eyes to the hope of God's light?

1. Start where you are right now

It doesn't matter how far behind others you feel you are.

The darkness may not dissipate all at once.

2. Turn your heart towards the Lord.

Lift up your soul in prayer. Poor out your heart and let Him know of the trials you are facing.

3. Walk in the light

Heavenly Father knows we will make mistakes. He desires that you rise up and become the person you were designed to be.

As we draw near to God He will draw near to us.

From time to time our lives may seen to be touched or even wrapped in darkness.

Our living hope is in Jesus Christ. He is the true, pure and powerful entrance to divine enlightenment.

With Christ darkness cannot succeed. Darkness cannot stand before the brilliant light of the Son of the living God.

Open your heart to Him. Seek him through study and prayer. Come to His church. Learn of Him and of His gospel. Participate actively.

Dieter F. Uchtdorf:

"Isn't it wonderful to know that we don't have to be perfect to experience the blessings and gifts of our Heavenly Father?"

I loved it when he gave the number of congregations in the world today:

There are congregations in 189 of 224 nations and territories of the world.

That means that there are congregations in 84% of the world's nations and territories! ^_^
