beefche
We are going on a cruise this month and I wanted to know if you had any ideas for parking. We are renting a car and the cost to park the car at the port in Miami is $20/day. Do you know of a cheaper place to park that is near the port? Any ideas for cheaper parking? mirkwood
Why don't you rent the car only long enough to drive there. Take a taxi to the port. Take a taxi from the port back to the car rental place when your cruise ends. Which cruise line are you going on? Where you going? We went in February to Haiti, Jamaica and Mexico on Royal Caribbean. Lots of fun.

BenRaines
Each time I have gone on cruise we rent a room near the port and they allow you to park there all week for free. Able to get there a day early and rest up for the cruise. Ben Raines

Take a taxi from the port back to the car rental place when your cruise ends. The package included airfare and they picked the airport, which is Ft. Lauderdale. If you rent in Miami then it's a long trip to pick the first one up and then return the second one, if you rent in Ft. Lauderdale it's a long trip to drop off the first one and pick up the second one. If you pick somewhere in between you split the difference. Any savings in parking would be easily eaten up in the cab fare. If we were coming into Miami International Airport then the one day rentals on either end would make sense, or if the cruise was longer. It's only a 3 day cruise. So far after doing my own investigation it appears that Earlington Heights Metrorail station has $4 overnight parking. Assuming there are't policies preventing it: Drop people off at the port, take the car to the station and then catch the metro back to the port. It may mean a mile or two of walking but it looks like it'd save some decent money. When we get back into port we can just reverse the process. Which cruise line are you going on?
