ZionsRodeVos
Some of it depends on what is not there. I bought a house about a year ago. Major things missing that I had to buy that have not been mentioned yet were: Shower curtains and rods to hang them on. Curtain rods and curtains for all the windows. Drill, drill bits, and level to put the curtain rods up.
classylady
Does the house come with curtains or blinds? If not you may need to purchase window coverings. Broom with dustpan, mop. Cleaning supplies and brushes/sponges, toilet bowl brush, etc. If you have a yard, you may need a lawn mower, rake, shovel, hoe, edger, etc. Do the light fixtures have light bulbs? Always good idea to have some extras. Some houses do not have a living room lamp/fixture, so a lamp may be needed. Not necessary, but nice to have: carpet cleaner/shampooer machine. Shower curtain? McLainDow
A copy "The Family a proclamatioon to the world" and a copy of "The Living Christ". When we got our Town house those are the first things we moved in, unpacked and put up.
classylady
For furniture, as long as I have a piano, I'm happy. After my husband and I got married, that's the first item of furniture we bought. We already had second-hand beds, couches, and kitchen table with chairs. When I was a single gal living with roommates, I always rented a piano for my apartments.
