Granted... I don't live in the Commonwealth, much less the UK... But an excuse to dress up, build a bonfire, and blow stuff up!

And I missed it!!!

Argh.

I celebrate other holidays (typically from places I've lived, or - like Pessach, or Eid- with friends who have invited me to celebrate with them).

Granted, Im particularly partial to holidays where we light things on fire (on purpose) and oooooooh & ahhhhhhh ... OR ... get to wear costumes/fancy dress. >^..^<

It got me to thinking.

Not everyone here is a Yankee.

Not everyone here is even Christian much less LDS.

What are all y'all's favorite holidays?

(Dashing through the snow! In a one horse open sleigh! O'er the fields we go! Laughing all the way!....Oh silver bells, sweet silver bells, all seem to say , throw cares away. LOL. My then 3yo had MoTabs Carol of the Bells playing on repeat for a few weeks one summer. Drove my ex nuts.)

Viciously vanguishing vivacious villains, validates various vindicants.

Remember, remember, the fifth of November, the gunpowder treason and plot, I know of no reason, why the gunpowder plot, should ever be forgot.

Perhaps its too British of an idea to want to resist federal ideas and I am not surprised V for Vendetta was censored by most people as it contained tyrannical religion, gay issues and so much more.

I prefer Christmas, as reflecting on quaint memories of family experiences and Christmas is one of the few days were family swallows their squabbles and does try to be together.

You still have time - lots of our celebrations happen either the weekend before or after Nov 5th.

My favorite holiday is Christmas - I absolutely love it - I how bright and cheerful everywhere looks with their lights, I love the true meaning behind the celebrations, I giving gifts to people, I love the food...

I'm with LM. Halloween is the greatest of holidays. A chance for imagination, that harvest spirit, the candy, the spooky stuff... it's wonderful.

Hey, I enjoyed the movie even whilst recognizing its liberal agenda.
