Books about Mormon History?

Recommended Posts

I would say that biographies are a good source of history. The ones I would recommend are:

Mormon Enigma:Emma Hale Smith by Linda King Newell and Valeen Tippetts Avery...and

Brigham Young: Pioneer Prophet by John G. Turner

"Barry Bickmore's Restoring the Ancient Church: Joseph Smith and Early Christianity is finally here. This is not just a re-release, however, it's an updated edition with a new chapter on Jewish Christianity. This must-have book shows startling parallels between early Christianity and the teachings of Joseph Smith."

There's an Institute of Religion manual that you can get through the distribution center with a good overview of Church history. I think it's called, "History of the Church".
