SpiritDragon
My favourite music is the kind that sounds good to me :)This excludes most country MOOsic, rap, modern pop, and anything I'm forced to listen to repetitively.I think most of the best music was created between 1960 and 1990.I have too many songs that I like to list them all, but too many of these songs also happen to come from bands that produce more ilk than good music so to say I like XYZ band would also be largely inaccurate. Palerider
Never cared for Jazz until my son played in Jazz Band at school. He started in 8th grade playing Jazz and continued on thru High School. Good stuff

SpiritDragon
I had a mission companion who was convinced that Linkin Park was the most influential band of all time... by far and away more influential than the Beatles.I don't know why it was so hard for him to understand that no one would remember LP in a few years, but the Beatles will remain popular. dahlia
This excludes ... anything I'm forced to listen to repetitively.I just found a song called 'SAIL' by AWOLNATION. I love it. Loved it more when I found a TEN HOUR loop on YouTube. I just turn it on for background while I work.I'm a rock 'n roll, classical, world music kinda gal, with too many fav artists to mention. Well, except for the genius Billy Corgan on his own or with Smashing Pumpkins.
Str8Shooter
I used to listen to Metallica, Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, etc, as well as Aerosmith and the like.My life has changed since then. Now it's Motab and classical. Occasionally I digress to some Skynyrd or Zepplin. Motab rocks way better. If only they could have sparks or flames fly out of the organ pipes...... prisonchaplain
I like BOTH kinds of music, round here. Country AND Western. QNot that new-fangle Nashville stuff either--the real C&W--the Branson, Missouri tunes! Seriously, though--I love praise and worship music. Michael W. Smith, Chris Tomlin, Karie Jobe, Hillsong, Vineyard, Paul Baloche (sp?), etc. This subgenre of Contemporary Christian Music is not so much a remake of other music with Jesus lyrics, but rather an original sound, meant to usher the congregation into an intimate worship of the Lord. Windseeker
Music is pretty much the backdrop to everything I do, whether its work, biking to work, cleaning the house, playing video games, going to the beach. Wingnut
I just found a song called 'SAIL' by AWOLNATION. I love it. Loved it more when I found a TEN HOUR loop on YouTube.I love that song, but I'm not sure I'd love it on a 10-hour loop. Just for fun, though, watch this goofy video, set to this song. It starts to get fun around 1:15, then again at 2:06. Totally random.

mirkwood
First and foremost will always be Rush, followed closely by Blue Oyster Cult.I listen to a lot of rock and what is termed smooth jazz.My currently most listened to playlist is a guitarist I discovered about a month ago: Buckethead. I don't like everything he has written, probably about 25%, but he is quite talented and I enjoy that 25% quite a bit.
