pam
During our life our faith will be tested. When we speak of faith, the faith that can move mountains, we’re not talking about faith in general but faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The doctrine of Jesus Christ was designed by the Lord to help us increase our faith. Even the best teams can fail. Spiritual truth can not be ignored. Breaking divine commandments cause a loss of blessings every time. Many put other priorities ahead of God. Some challenge the relevance of religion today. Some blame religion of any number of the world’s ills. Living the Lord’s pure religion is a way of life and a daily commitment that will provide divine guidance. The scriptures are one of the best ways to find and stay on course. We should liken all scriptures unto us. If each tries to separate lives into compartments one will never become what each self could be. Even if everyone is doing it, wrong is never right. Immorality is still immorality in the eyes of God. Increase your faith. Proclaim your faith. Let your faith show.
Connie
I really loved this talk. I love the idea of letting your faith show and of not separating various aspects of our lives. "If one tries to segment his or her life into such separate compartments, one will never rise to the full stature of one's personal integrity--never to become all that his or her true self could be." I like that he makes this a matter of integrity which means "whole." If we are dividing ourselves up in these kinds of ways we can never be whole. It reminds me of the CES devotional talk by Elder Holland where he said to "never check your religion at the door." lds2 and pam
