Martin Luther King Jr used this same theme: Don’t sleep through the revolution. Are you sleeping through the restoration? Selfishess: Those who are selfish seek their own interests and pleasure above all else. Is it any coincidence that “selfie” has been called a word of the year? Those who serve others will not sleep through the restoration. Negative habits have a way to becoming binding addictions. Addictions are so much easier to prevent than to cure. Listen to the trusted warnings of friends, family and leaders. “Dieter, don’t even think about it.” Don’t give up and don’t lose faith. He will give you the power of deliverance. He will make you free. It is easy to spend a lot of time going through the motions without the heart of substance. Don’t allow competing obligations lull you from what is important. Being a disciple of Jesus Christ is not an effort of once a week or once a day. It is an effort of for once and for all.
