Who bears responsibility for what happens to us in our lives?

Sometimes a sense of entitlement arises.

God intends that His children act in the moral agency that He has given them.

It is His plan and His will that we have the principal decision making role.

God does not save us just as we are.  Just as we are unclean and nothing unclean can dwell in God’s presence.

God does not abandon us.  He helps and guides us.

We’re grateful that the Savior’s atonement overcame original sin.

We began life innocent before God.

We can choose to become the kind of person that we will and with God’s help that can be even as He is.

We are able to develop a Christlike character.

Our very presence on earth is the consequence of a choice that we made.

Justice is an essential attribute of God.

He is perfectly trustworthy.

His path is straight and his course is one eternal round and he is no respecter of persons.

Acting to repent is a self-willed change.

Repentance respects and sustains our moral agency.

A God that makes no demands is the functional equivalent of a God that does not exist.

Many that believe in God still believe that they can decide or choose what is right or what is wrong.

Freedom comes not from resisting it but from applying it.

The opportunity to assume personal responsibility is a God given gift.

We must defend accountability against those who would make us dependent.

It’s God’s will that we be free men and women that we can rise to our full potential.

This can’t be achieved by our efforts alone but also by God’s grace.

Beyond desiring God’s help we must also work towards it.
