Thomas S. Monson - Sunday a.m. Session

Recommended Posts

The primary purpose of our existence on the earth is to gain a body, to keep the commandments.

When we came to the earth we brought with us a great gift of God, even our agency.

We are able to choose for ourselves.

We differentiate between the bitter and the sweet.

We learn that decisions determine destiny.

He did not send us here without direction and guidance.

He has given us the tools we need and the will to seek His help.

To help guide us we have the words of His son.

We have the counsel and teaching of God’s prophets.

We have the perfect example to follow, even the Savior Jesus Christ.

He marked the way and the path.

As we follow in His footsteps we can return safely to our Heavenly Father.

Walking where Jesus walked is less important than walking as he walked.

All of us can walk the path He walked with his words ringing in our hearts.

His example lights the way.

Jesus walked many of the same paths we walk in life. Such as disappointment.

Jesus walked the path of temptation.

Jesus walked the path of pain.

We can accept no more than the Master.

We, with Jesus, can walk the path of obedience.  It will not always be easy.

Let us remember that the end result of disobedience is captivity and death.

While obedience leads to eternal life.

Jesus walked the path of prayer.

His parables teach and instruct us.

By walking in His path he has promised to share eternal life with us.

No other choice we can make can make us what He can.

The Savior’s example provides a framework for everything that we do.
