David A. Bednar - Saturday p.m. Session

Recommended Posts

Many have felt extreme fear over impending health and other issues.

War, forces of nature and other things can create fear.

Fear can be dispelled with faith in the Holy Ghost.

One of the first effects of the Fall was for Adam and Eve to experience fear.

The power of the Lord can dispel fear and bring peace even as we face adversity.

Alma counseled the people to have faith in the Lord to hush their own fears.

Faith in the Lord empowers us to hush our own fears.

Trust and confidence in Christ lead to hope through His atonement in the resurrection and eternal life.

Faith and hope invites into our lives the peace that we all yearn.

It strengthens us to be good in ways that could not be accomplished in our own limited capacity.

We can be blessed to hush our fears because His doctrine provides purpose in all aspects of our lives.

The things that matter most can be endured in time and in the eternities.

We are connected to and with the Savior when we enter and honor covenants.

That bond is the source of spiritual strength and stability in all of the seasons of our lives.

Exercising faith in and on the holy name of Jesus Christ and in His timing yields the peaceable things of the Kingdom of God that bring joy and eternal life.

We can be blessed to hush our fears as we live gospel principles and pressing forward on the covenant pathway.

Godly fear is a source of peace, assurance and confidence.

How can anything to do with fear be edifying?

It brings a deep feeling of reverence for the Father and Jesus Christ.

Godly fear grows out of an understanding of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Godly fear is the beginning of knowledge.

We will not be afraid of Jesus Christ at all. It will be facing the knowledge of things about ourselves that we will fear.

We will all stand before Christ to be judged. Whether for good or for evil.

If we are evil or wicked the judgement bar will be one of dread.

Our works and desires alone do not and can not save us.

We are made whole only through the mercy and grace of the atonement.

Godly fear is loving and trusting in Him.

As we fear God more completely we love Him more perfectly.

Perfect love casteth out all fear.

His power and peace are real.
