The JST on the LDS Church's website is selections only.  The CoC has the whole thing online at http://www.centerplace.org/hs/iv/ .

A scanned OCR version of the 1902 edition of History of the Church can be found at http://www.boap.org/LDS/History/History_of_the_Church/.

JAG the first link does not work because the period is part of the hyperlink...  it needs to be removed for the link to work

I wonder why the church doesn't option and publish the JST in full. I understand not making it part of the official Standard Works, particularly in light of missionary efforts (I remember being proselyted by some Jehovah's Witnesses and scoffing at their version of the Bible and how they changed things to suit their doctrine, etc.) But it would still be cool to have -- particularly with the same cross-references, etc., as the Standard Works publication.

That is a good question... I know we did not have the copyright, it went with Emma and Emma and Brigham Young did not get along.    However the relationships between the two different groups is much better now.

There is a JST edition you can buy at Deseret Book, I believe  But as far as publications of Biblical commentary/cross references goes, the Church (via BYU) is on to bigger and better things.

Bigger and better than Joseph Smith's inspired translations?  <_<    :)

Surely the copyright is long expired. It has been almost 171 years since Joseph Smith's murder, and over 136 years since Emma's death. I wonder if there is some political reason that we don't publish such a thing, along the lines of that we don't want to offend/upset CoC folks.

That part of why I thought it was a good question.  The copyright and legal wrangling explained why we didn't do so in the beginning.  Not much explains it now

I have one of their Bibles ......traded for it years ago while on my mission for a Book of Mormon. You should see the look on their faces when I pull mine out ...... Of course I have not done this to them in a few years. Lol!!!
