The waist should tie just above your hips, the upper part fitting comfortably but not too loosely on your torso, especially around your shoulder. That part is the key to not having the robe slip down your shoulder all the time. If you're a man, your cap ties to the shoulder of the robe, but this is not (or at least should not be) any part of the robe staying on. You don't want your robe being held up by the ribbon on your cap; it's miserable and distracting, as I'm sure you have found out. In my experience, it is well worth taking the few extra moments to make sure your robe is on correctly. If your robe doesn't fit right, alter it or get it altered so it does. Your temple robe is usually a one-time purchase, so it's worth the money and/or effort to get it tailored correctly. (Says the guy whose robe doesn't fit right, and who is too cheap and lazy to get it tailored.) Disciple Posted December 21, 2022 Report Share Posted December 21, 2022 First, loosen both side tags. Place the robe on your shoulder. Tighten or fasten the tags on the opposite side of the waist from the shoulder it is placed upon and get those as snug as comfortable so that the robe will not slip from your shoulder. Last, adjust the inner tie to accommodate the tightness of the outer tie. When done, the robe should be tight together on the side farthest from your shoulder and very loose on the side of your waist directly under the shoulder upon which your robe is resting.
