Ahhh!!!!! I am teaching about Ministering for Four Months! And I was hoping that someone would teach me! 😢

Erm, six months (unless someone else is teaching the other two).  May through October, inclusive.  (And yes, I think it's going to be a challenge to keep people engaged that long.)

@zil I will have to use many buzzgroups, which sisters like because it gives them time to visit!, to keep people engaged.

One of the tools I've seen used often in general church trainings but only seldom on the local level, is mock activities (such as mock councils). You may consider working with your presidency to have them demonstrate a mock interview between the president and a counselor.

I am going to start with the first idea:

SUMMARY from Ensign:‘What does it mean to minister? (Write title on board)

What does ministering mean to the members in your ward or branch? To find out, you could write Ministering on the board and then invite members to write words around it that they associate with ministering. Members could find words or phrases to add to the list from scriptures like the following: Matthew 25:34–40; Luke 10:25–37; 2 Nephi 25:26; Mosiah 18:8–9; 3 Nephi 18:25; and Doctrine and Covenants 81:5. What do we learn from these verses about ministering? You could ask members to share examples of ministering they have seen. How can our ministering help meet people’s spiritual and temporal needs? How can it help people come closer to Christ?’

LESSON: Put people into small groups. 2 or 3. Each group needs to have scriptures. Form small group around immobile people.

Handout a piece of paper with instructions. Instructions say: 1. Choose leader to walk you through the exercise. 2. Choose speaker who both records and reports. In a small group: Find words in scriptures above that are associated with ministering. What do we learn from these verses about ministering?

Take up.

As a class: Write on board. 

ask members to share examples of ministering they have seen or experienced. (Maybe text people a couple of days before and ask them to think of examples. If so have them give them at beginning of class as a warm up. Bring Kleenex!)

How can our ministering help meet people’s spiritual and temporal needs?

How can it help people come closer to Christ?

Bear testimony about how the ministering of others helped you.
