Vort
A popular online quiz topic is to present a bunch of quotations from Shakespeare and from the Bible, and see if people can tell them apart. It's eye-opening for sure. I believe it demonstrates that people don't really read the Bible (or Shakespeare) very much, present company very much not excepted. Here are the first five results of a Google search for "bible or shakespeare", with my scores: https://blog.oxforddictionaries.com/2013/04/23/bible-or-bard/ Vort's score: 27/30 (90%) "Result: Well done!" http://www.chicagonow.com/listing-beyond-forty/2014/04/quiz-shakespeare-or-the-bible-quotes/ Vort's score: 13/15 (87%) (No congratulatory result) https://www.sporcle.com/games/bamachile/billy-shakes-was-no-prophet Vort's score: 20/20 (100%) "I bet the teacher used your tests as the answer key in high school." [These were pretty easy] http://www.bbc.co.uk/guides/zxsvk7h Vort's score: 9/9 (100%) "Take a bow. You know your Macbeth from your Matthew." [These were very easy] https://www.christiantoday.com/article/shakespeare-or-scripture-see-how-well-you-know-your-bard-from-bible-with-our-simple-quiz/85003.htm Vort's score: 15/15 (100%) (No congratulatory result) [Surprisingly easy] On the whole, I confess I'm not completely displeased with my scores; they are at least as good as I deserved, maybe better. I guessed more often than I care to admit, and most of my guesses were right, so I can't complain about bad luck. I would estimate that I firmly knew about 70-80% of the first two. The last three were all pretty easy, especially after having missed a couple on the first two that came up again. mordorbund
Shakespeare and the KJV came out of different but adjacent eras. So if you can discern the difference between beatnik and hipster slang you can probably pick up on the idiomatic differences between the Bible and Shakespeare. Guest Mores
https://blog.oxforddictionaries.com/2013/04/23/bible-or-bard/ 86% -- admittedly, I did not know some of those that I got correct. But some of the language really was fairly obvious. http://www.chicagonow.com/listing-beyond-forty/2014/04/quiz-shakespeare-or-the-bible-quotes/ 14/15 -- Again with the admissions. I only got some right because I learned them from the first site. They repeated. https://www.sporcle.com/games/bamachile/billy-shakes-was-no-prophet 90% -- I'm a good guesser. I swear I only knew about half of them. http://www.bbc.co.uk/guides/zxsvk7h 9/9 -- I believe I knew all but one. I must have guessed right on that one. https://www.christiantoday.com/article/shakespeare-or-scripture-see-how-well-you-know-your-bard-from-bible-with-our-simple-quiz/85003.htm 12/15 -- Well, my luck couldn't hold out forever. askandanswer
Is this further evidence that Shakespeare plagiarised?

But, clever plagiarist that he was, Shakespeare blatantly stole from a book that had not yet been published or in many cases even written. Shakespeare's Joseph Smith-like devilishness allowed him to steal from future works, just as Joseph Smith did.
