Guest Mores
I'd like to discuss the following related scriptures. Quote Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. -- John 7:24 Quote 1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. -- Matt 7: 1-5 Then Joseph Smith joined these. Quote 2 Judge not unrighteously, that ye be not judged; but judge righteous judgment. -- JST, Matt 7:2 Matt 7 first simply says "don't judge". But it goes on to explain: "Don't judge with hypocrisy." But John 7 advises against hasty judgments. Don't judge by superficial information alone. Seek not to judge without having walked a mile in someone else's shoes kinda thing. JST connects them and we get a bigger picture.
NeuroTypical
From where I'm standing, Elder Oaks dropped the mic on the subject back in 1998: https://www.lds.org/study/ensign/1999/08/judge-not-and-judging?lang=eng Absolutely worth a read. anatess2
