My niece has a new job!

My niece has a new job. She is in her early 20s and a social worker. She watches adult entertainment videos which feature children. She works with the RCMP and Interpol to track down the perps.

i looked at her timidly and asked her if she finds her work stressful. 

She smiled. She did not pat me on the head but she made a head patting gesture.

I suspect that your niece gains great satisfaction from catching the criminals who produce those videos. At the same time, your question is not head-pat worthy. Most would find viewing such degradation too awful. Her sense of purpose might override that, but the reality is that many people just cannot go there.

What a hellish job. I do not envy your niece. If that earns me a head-pat, so be it.

Like @prisonchaplain I am concerned - I know a young man that following law school, became a prosecuting attorney specializing in domestic abuse (including child pron).  He has become cynical, critical, angry and generally not pleasant to be around.

My niece closely resembles an angel. Mind you no one in the family can watch scary programs like CSI, the men included. My niece insisted that we watch this show of which she was a huge fan. We were all quite frightened.

Maybe these crime shows have made her blasé?
