MrShorty
Just saw this reported in the Deseret News. Apparently, Pres. Nelson announced to a leadership session that girls and women may now be witnesses for baptisms and sealings: https://www.deseret.com/2019/10/2/20894166/church-women-policy-witnesses-lds-mormon-conference?fbclid=IwAR2LtfL4QfTrRI89dQKgvRnE9bI3TwyZACki8FxbEQe-uIQAm065LXrfxD8 Midwest LDS, dprh and Sunday21 1

My wife would love to be a witness for our daughter when she's old enough. How neat! Backroads, Sunday21 and MrShorty 2

mordorbund
Currently (well, previously) it falls on quorum presidents to ensure that priesthood holders were familiar with this material. Looks like Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society presidencies need to squeeze in an extra lesson. Several of the actors weren't members, including the person doing the actual baptism. We were standing on shore watching it happen and during the baptism an arm stayed above water. It was pretty funny because we were all in character, but there was an audible "UUUuuuuuhhhhhmmm" of negativity from those who were members. The actor had no idea what it was about and they had to shoot the scene again. You probably had to be there to see the humor. I dunno; body slamming somebody in a dry baptismal font just doesn't seem like it needs a whole lot of training. Maybe one focused lesson at the dojo.
