Stand clear of European and left-wing US news sources! They're about to wet themselves!

When I saw the results of the election, my first thought was a joking and sarcastic “Im sure Russia had something to do with this”.

Are we back to blaming witches, Loki, and the devil for everything negative that happens in our lives?

When the left loses elections, they blame everything but themselves. True believers of all types are incapable of self reflection or self critique.

As the token Brit......

It was no surprise that the Conservatives won. The labour party went back to the 1970's with their manifesto - and we are will never be a socialist voting country. Corbyn was the wrong leader, too wishy washy on Europe and his "I will remain neutral" was indefensible on the doorstep or in interview. His extreme left views were always going to haunt him - wrong man for the job. The fact that the Labour party have publicly admitted this is more shocking.

The surprise is how many voters swung to the conservative party in parts of the country that are confirmed red votes.  I think this is more of a product of picking "worst best option". I worry that not having a credible opposition of any political persuasion means that the mechanisms for balance of power are gone.  We will now see Boris Johnson's true colours as he has been trying to play to both sides of the fence with the very small majority that was voted into power just 2 years ago.

In politics everything can change so quickly.

Michael Foote is no longer the the worst nominee that the Labour party has had. I was stunned at this election. No, I'm not a Brit, but I follow British politics obsessively (long story).  Dennis Skinner losing his seat was a shocker.

I think this election had everything to do with Brexit. Corbyn is no Atlee, that's for sure, but he's a bit of a scapegoat here.

At grassroots level it was unfortunately very obvious that this was going to happen. Labour needed to understand that this was an election about Brexit and all the other policies were window dressing. Corbyn's stance on Brexit was a HUGE nail in the coffin and not attacking the 10 year record of the standing party adequately did it for the Labour party. I am sure he would be a perfectly civil neighbour, but does not have the personality to go up against Johnson - even when Johnson refused to play his part in the media circus (avoided 2 major televised appearances and made some rather big bloopers when he did appear live on camera).  I don't know anyone who was not a very left Labour supporter who was convinced by the party this time round.

So people felt like they could vote for Conservatives (get out of EU) Labour (let's have another negotiation and a referendum on that deal and drag it out EVEN longer) or Liberal Democrat (revoke article 50)....... It was always going to be down to Brexit and people are SOOOO sick and tired of it they just want out.

OK! So, apparently the founders of the Fusion GPS debacle are now telling the UK that the results were the result of Russian interference in the UK election.

Just how much deception can people get called on and still continue to hope they will be believed?

They don't need you to believe it.  It simply needs to be published as a news article so it can be used in trial or Intelligence Operations. Remember, the previous US admin may have worked with the previous UK admin in Crossfire Hurricane.

I'm sick and tired of it and I'm not even British!!!  If people feel similar to that, they just want for it to finally be resolved rather than dragging it out for longer and longer periods.

I don't generally concern myself with the politics of inferior countries but I suppose I can make an exception in this case.  😋

And crossing the Channel, one cannot say much
For the French or the Spanish, the Danish or Dutch
The Germans are German, the Russians are red
And the Greeks and Italians eat garlic in bed!

The English are moral, the English are good
And clever and modest and misunderstood

And all the world over, each nation's the same
They've simply no notion of playing the game
They argue with umpires, they cheer when they've won
And they practice beforehand, which ruins the fun!

The English, the English, the English are best
So up with the English and down with the rest!

It's not that they're wicked, or naturally bad
It's knowing they're foreign that makes them so mad!

In every case where I have had first hand knowledge of anything written by professional journalists; their bias (especially towards their own profession) has ruined their report with inaccuracies.   I personally categorize news reports first by inclusion - what they think you ought to know.  And second by exclusion - things they deliberately leave out that they do not want you to know.

Freedom is very reliant on free expression.  In the USA we are granted that right under the 1st Amendment.  For freedom there cannot be bias in the gathering and disbursement of information.  When the Constitution was written this was the press - But the press has been replaced by what we currently call the media.  The only way to have freedom of the press is to guarantee that all opinions (bias) can be heard.  But we all tend to shut down those that - for whatever reason - we do not like, are not our bias, or for which we do not agree.  And many have a propensity to dislike - even hate - those that disagree with them.

It is impossible to learn anything new if you only listen to those you agree with.

We will only display our ignorance (not someone else's) if we try to argue with someone that has an opinion we cannot or will not understand.  Another term for this is being uninformed or stupid.

If discussing a topic or dealing with an opinion makes you angry - you are not fit to discuss it or deal with it.  If someone makes you angry during a discussion - it is you that is the fool and out of control.  Do not be like Whoopi Goldberg and tell someone to "shut up" - If you cannot politely say "May I speak?" then it is you that should shut up.  (My opinion 😁)

If we cannot deal with someone questioning our bias - we are not fit to discuss that topic.

Worse of all - if we do not employ the "golden" rule - then it is us that is the evil problem.

I do not believe we have freedom of the press.
