Traveler
As a side note - I do not believe someone to be informed (properly educated) if they lack the basic knowledge of proper use and maintenance of fire arms. Proper use and maintenance of firearms is an essential element of a free and educated society and as such ought to be (of necessity) a basic teaching of required education. I actually believe that a proper education concerning firearms is necessary to control gun violence - and would be much much more effective than any "gun control" legislation. It is interesting to me that growing up I was required to take a course (class) about gun use and maintenance before I could own a gun or obtain a hunting license. And the only acceptable course was offered by the NRA - which today many political thinkers consider an extremists organization.
