I see the U.S. is doing it's usual outstanding job in medal count.

I'll always root for the U.S., but if I were to root for any other nation's Olympian, it would be the folks who barely squeaked onto the record books by winning a bronze.  Without that bronze, they'd be competing for last place with 150 other countries.  With it, their nation now ties for 57th place.

Amazing bro. Huge respect for that

Its one of the main reasons why I got into orthopedics.

My twin had a nasty open tibia fracture our HS senior year.

During my interview process one of the attending surgeons always asked everybody the same question.  Did you wear spikes?

If you didn’t, or even worse did not understand the question it, was an immediate fail.

Of course, I wore spikes.  I have the scars to prove it.

The twin and I were very active.  We rode our bikes past the Jr High and saw some vaulters.  We knew immediately we had to do it.  Dad ran track when he was in school and supported us.

I went to state 3 years in a row in Texas HS and got to go to university on a full ride.

Converted to the Decathlon in College.  Fun times.

I'm reading reports that the same person who planned the Opening Ceremonies was the person who planned the Closing Ceremonies.

So expect things to go downhill even further & faster.

Oh, and this girl.   I'm now officially rooting for this girl, not just in the olympics, but also through life.
