The quarterback for BYU Football, a team primarily comprised of Latter-day Saints, is Jewish. Jake Retzlaff’s beliefs are different from Latter-day Saint beliefs but there are a core beliefs that overlap.
Jake has shared a lot about his experience playing for a Latter-day Saints school and laughs about some of the differences in his experience at BYU vs other schools. For the most part, the fan base has embraced Jake. And he even coined himself “BYJew,” fully embracing his identity at BYU.
