Descriptions:
For almost 200 years now, critics have been scrambling to prove that The Book of Mormon is nothing but a work of fiction. One of the conspiracy theories that gained traction in the early years of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the Spalding-Rigdon theory, or the idea that Joseph plagiarized from an unpublished manuscript written by a man named Solomon Spalding (Spaulding), which was supplied to him by Sidney Rigdon.
In this episode, Dave discusses the major problems with this theory, and why few people lend much credibility to it nowadays.
