Descriptions:
In this episode, Dave talks about the claim that “feelings are not a valid source of truth.” Turns out, there’s a lot of truth to that. He explains why you shouldn’t just do whatever your feelings tell you to do, but he also explains the role of the Holy Ghost when it comes to answering prayers, and how “feelings” can play a part (but not the only part). When missionaries challenge people to find out if The Book of Mormon is true, there are three parts to the invitation:
1. Read it.
2. Think about/internalize what you’ve read.
3. Ask God, through prayer, if it’s true.
Critics oftentimes seem to think parts one and two do not exist, but they do. Believing The Book of Mormon is true shouldn’t be solely based on how you feel about it. There’s cerebral work involved. Watch the episode!
