In just six days, a large group of young people from Scotland and Ireland embarked on a journey to the Preston England Temple to deepen their understanding of covenant membership and mark a historic milestone.

This event, organized by the Scottish and Irish Coordinating Council, not only involved the performance of saving ordinances for their deceased ancestors, but also a series of spiritual and worship activities.

‘Saviors on Mount Zion’

Called “Saviors on Mount Zion ,” these young people actively participated in various ordinances for their ancestors, received spiritual instruction, worshipped God through music, and were taught by missionaries.

In total, 600 young people served in the Preston Temple, and more than 4,000 ordinances were completed. In addition to temple service, the youth enjoyed meals, singing, and shared learning. Active gospel instruction encouraged them to understand the importance of staying on the covenant path and “thinking celestial.”

Visit to the Missionary Training Center

A visit to the England Missionary Training Center (MTC) in Preston was another meaningful experience . Seeing the MTC up close and learning from full-time missionaries inspired many young men to consider missionary service.

According to leaders, this experience motivated many participants to commit to serving a mission .

The Church’s UK Newsroom summarized the impact of these weekends by stating that the experiences connected young people to each other and to their deceased ancestors , involved them in meaningful service, and equipped them with the knowledge to receive and act on personal revelation.

They also reminded them of their divine purpose and fostered a deeper sense of belonging to the covenant .
