In a college class, a professor introduced the topic of the Church, and immediately, many students raised their hands to share painful stories of how they had been hurt by it. One student, sitting quietly among her peers, felt a wave of anxiety. She had something to say, but fear kept her from speaking up. Surrounded by friends and classmates, the pressure to stay silent was overwhelming.

When her turn finally came, Jess took a deep breath and shared why she loved the Church. She explained that the gospel was more about Christ’s love than the administrative aspects that others were criticizing. Tears filled her eyes as she spoke. Though embarrassed, she felt inspired by the Spirit to speak her truth.

As class ended, a girl sitting next to her turned to offer a hug. “Thanks for having the courage to say what nobody else had to say,” she said.

This experience reminded Jess that standing up for one’s beliefs, even in the face of opposition, can have a powerful impact. Courage to speak can make a difference, even in moments of vulnerability.

Mosiah 18: 9 9 Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life— #lds #mormon #hiphop #newmusic #applemusic #churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #spotify #ldsquotes #christiantiktok
