The bowls ridges help control portions, by indicating how much food a child should eat based on their age. It teaches about balance in the diet by illustrating examples of nutritious local proteins, fruits, and vegetables. and the spoon ensures that the food is not to diluted. Sometimes mothers will thin out a broth to make their food go a little farther.
