The Passover Parallel You’ve Probably Never Noticed

Passover week is a sacred Jewish tradition that commemorates the Exodus—when the Israelites fled Egypt so quickly, their bread didn’t have time to rise. That’s why during Passover, Jews eat unleavened bread and cleanse their homes of all leavened products. This isn’t just spring cleaning—it’s symbolic. Leaven represents sin and corruption, and removing it is a way of preparing for freedom and spiritual renewal.

Now here’s the mind-blowing part: In the New Testament, Jesus enters Jerusalem right before Passover, during this exact season of cleansing. And what does He do? He goes to the temple—His Father’s house—and cleanses it. He drives out the money changers and flips tables, removing corruption just like the leaven being removed from every home.

This wasn’t coincidence. It was a powerful parallel. As God’s people prepared for deliverance, Jesus was preparing His Father’s house—cleansing it for what was to come.

Cleansing the temple *at all* would have been a big deal, but doing it *at that time* would have REALLY ruffled some feathers. The message would have been clear. Passover HolyWeek JesusChrist churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints GreaterLove
