I've been thinking, and realized I don't really understand "mainstream" Chirstian viewpoint of God.  I would like to, as a I try to be respectful and understand other faiths.  So, I was wondering if anyone who's spent time in a different faith could help me out.   From a non-LDS veiwpoint, whom/what is God?  Why did He create the Earth and us?
