Why Did I Serve a Mission?
One question often arises for missionaries: “Why did you serve?” For many, including this Elder, the answer isn’t always clear at first. “To be honest, I don’t really know,” he admits. “But what I did know was that it was the right thing to do.”
For him, serving a mission was about sharing the joy, peace, and hope he had found through Jesus Christ. It was about inviting others to come closer to Christ and experience the same transformation. Through serving, he discovered his purpose and strengthened his faith.
Another missionary shares a similar reason: “I guess I just want to leave a positive impact on people. Share the light of Christ to people.”
Both missionaries reflect that service is about living the gospel, sharing Christ’s love, and helping others feel the peace that comes through Him.
