For almost 200 years now, critics have been scrambling to prove that The Book of Mormon is nothing but a work of fiction. One of the conspiracy theories that gained traction after the Solomon Spalding theory fell short (see our episode on this) was the idea that Joseph Smith stole ideas and themes from Ethan Smith’s book, View of the Hebrews.
