God Doesn’t Call the Ready—He Calls the Willing
One of the biggest lies we tell ourselves is: “I can’t start until I’m ready.” Whether it’s going on a mission, starting a relationship, applying for a job, or picking up a new hobby—we hesitate, thinking we need to be fully prepared first.
But here’s the truth: God doesn’t call the ready. He calls the willing.
Think of the prophets—Moses, Alma, Jonah. None of them were fully ready when God called them. But their willingness made the difference. As Alma 32 teaches, all it takes is faith like a mustard seed. But that faith has to be nourished. If you ignore the call to act, you might later say it wasn’t meant to be. In reality, it was—you just didn’t feed the seed.
So if you feel even a small push to grow spiritually, change your life, or take a new step—go for it. God will qualify you as you go.
