In seminary, this brother learned a powerful truth: When we want something from our Heavenly Father, we pray. And when we want to hear His answers, we turn to the scriptures.

President Russell M. Nelson once said, “You can learn how to use the scriptures to help solve problems in your life, and find answers to your questions.”

This brother was going through a difficult time, so he said a prayer, asking for guidance, and then opened his scriptures. He landed on Doctrine & Covenants 6:36:

“Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.”

That verse hit him powerfully—it calmed his fear and strengthened his faith.

God wants to speak to you. If you’re searching for answers, try this: pray first, then read.
