Trusting the Lord’s Timing: My Journey with Mission Papers and Delays
Serving a mission has always been a deep desire in Lia’s heart. After months of preparation, she finally submitted her mission papers, only to encounter unexpected delays.
A month passed without any news, and Lia began to feel anxious. Then, she received the unexpected news that her papers had been sent back. The Church recommended she resubmit in 6-12 months. However, after a meaningful conversation with her stake president, he offered to advocate for her to have her papers reviewed sooner.
Although this setback was difficult, it taught Lia a valuable lesson about trusting in the Lord’s timing. Her stake president reminded her that what matters most isn’t when she receives her mission call, but that her desire to serve is sincere.
Through much prayer and reflection, Lia realized that, for now, she needed to focus on other areas of her life, trusting that when the time is right, the Lord will guide her path.
Lia understands that many others face similar challenges, and she wants to share her story to encourage others to stay hopeful, trust in God’s plan, and remember that His timing is always perfect.
@suitelifeoflia 6 months ago I started an exciting journey to dedicate my life to Christ. Through trials and disappointment I found that I am exactly where the Lord wants me to be. The last 6 months was not wasted. It taught me to trust the Lord, follow his direction, and be faithful. Funny how it all turns out huh? Jesus loves you. Let God direct you. #lds #mormon #utah
