While many religions have a format on how to talk to God, the Church of Jesus Christ (also known as the Mormon Church or LDS Church) doesn’t believe that personal prayers should be recited but should come from the heart. Yes, you might find common jargon in prayers that members of the Church offer but this is only tradition, not necessary steps to talk to God.
Many people may ask, “Who is God” and “Does God exist?” When you meet the ‘Mormon’ missionaries (missionaries of the restored church), they will likely ask you to ask God if the things they are telling you are true. This is just to address God openly, asking him if he exists and if the messages you are hearing are true.
We believe that God loves EVERYONE and that all are his children. Since we are His children, He wants to hear from ALL of us! So use prayer as a way to connect with God who loves you and wants the best for you.
