One of the most common Bible verses used against members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (sometimes called “Mormons”) is Galatians 1:8. In this episode, David explains why this verse may not be as devastating to faith as some might believe.

Notes:
— I want to emphasize that just because someone employs a logical fallacy in their point, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are wrong. The fallacy simply exposes a hole in the argument. Even if we were to hypothetically assume that Protestants were right and Latter-day Saints actually did believe in a different gospel, simply commenting “Galatians 1:8” would still exhibit the “begging the question” fallacy.
— I especially like Mormon 7:8 from the Book of Mormon, which says: “Therefore repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus, and lay hold upon the gospel of Christ, which shall be set before you, not only in this record but also in the record which shall come unto the Gentiles from the Jews, which record shall come from the Gentiles unto you.” The Book of Mormon itself asserts that it teaches the same gospel as the Bible.
— It is worth pointing out that Galatians 1:8 is not a verse that is exclusively used against Latter-day Saints.
