2 Old Testament characters are making their way to the big screen. Film director Ridley Scott is producing the newest upcoming biblical movies, one on Moses (Exodus: Gods and Kings) and the other on King David. Earlier this week the future production of King David was announced and yesterday, the official trailer for Exodus: Gods and Kings was released starring Christian Bale.
Biblical movies in hollywood have flourished the past 10 years in the box office with hits like the Passion of the Christ, grossing $611 million worldwide and the more recent film Noah grossing $359 million worldwide.
Exodus: Gods and Kings will be the fourth biblical film released this year as a major motion picture following Noah, Son of God, and Heaven Is for Real. It is expected to be in theatres December 12, 2014.
